#Photography Statue of Liberty, NY

The Statue of Liberty (Liberty Enlightening the World), on Liberty Island New York and a Frédéric Bartholdi’s design, was built in 1886.

The statue, a gift to the US from the people of France, is of a female figure representing Libertas, the Roman goddess of freedom, who bears a torch and a tabula ansata (a tablet evoking the law) upon which is inscribed the date of the American Declaration of Independence, July 4, 1776.

Despite loving the statue and having already the possibility of visiting NY a number of times, I must confess I never set foot on Liberty Island. I never saw any advantage on doing it just because you’ll lose a lot of precious time and NY has so much to offer. Even tough, there’s one thing which is a must to me when visiting NY: to take a ferry and just pass by it.

#Photography - This is Toronto!

The provincial capital of Ontario is the largest city in Canada. Dates back to late 18th century, when its land was first purchased by the British monarchy from the Mississaugas. The settlement was later established as the Town of York. In 1834, York was incorporated as a city and renamed to its present name.

With over 2.6 million residents, it is the fifth most populous city in North America and one of the world’s most diverse cities by percentage of non-native-born residents, with about 49% of the population born outside Canada.Toronto is also consistently rated as one of the world’s most livable cities.

You’ll love its architecture and the unbelievable mixture of cultures from around the world.

#Photos Pamukkale – Turkey

The  “cotton castle” in Turkish, stands in southwestern part of the country. This is the place of ancient Greco-Roman and Byzantine city of Hierapolis with its beautiful and well preserved amphitheater.

Today the city is famous for its hot springs, which form terraces of carbonate minerals left by the flowing water. In the 50’s hotels were built over the ruins of Hierapolis, causing considerable damage not only to the archeological site but also to the springs.

Nowadays you can no longer enter the tepid natural pools but, nevertheless, it is an amazing destination you must visit, just as Turkey as a whole.

Lisbon (Parque das Nações) Portugal

Today I’m playing at home. After all this time, it’s only my second post about Lisbon.

As most of you probably know, Lisbon is a city full of history, with more than 2.000 years of consecutive settlement. It was conquered to the moors, by our first King Afonso Henriques, in 1147 and became Portugal’s capital city in 1254.

But today we aren’t going to show you the beautiful and traditional city, instead we’re delivering to you 21th century Lisbon which, by the way, is worth seeing too. Don’t you agree?

#Photos La Maddalena, Sardinia - Italy

Sardinia is glamour and fantastic beaches with beautiful warm turquoise waters waiting for a dive.

I visited Sardinia together with the french island of Corsica and let me tell you, both are worth it!

There are regular ferries making the connection between the two islands. On the french side you will pick the ferry at Bonifacio, a beautiful small town surrounded by walls, built on the edge of a huge cliff.
